Optimystik x mita sneakers x New Balance A03 Pack

Teaming up with New Balance, Japanese clothing brand Optimystik and mita Sneakers cook up another collabo featuring the outdoorsy New Balance A03 model. Two colorways were created, both following a rugged outdoors approach implementing wool with sherpa fur lining. New Balance is set to revive their M850 next year as they dig into the back logs of their illustrious running shoe career. As one of the M850’s more technical releases, the low-profile shoe will debut in an original colorway with subsequent new colorways to release in the months after. Keeping an earthy tone, both feature suede/leather uppers, crackled and splatter midsoles with the traditional New Balance stability and cushioning system that the company is well known for. The set will be exclusive to Mita, being produced in more limited quantities than projects before. The kicks are expected to drop August 30th 2008.

New Balance Hanon Flying Club M670 Pack

Hanon-shop hooks up with New Balance to produce a new pair of running shoes with a classic aesthetic and customized material. The collaboration utilizes timeless and superior material that was used during World War II for flying suits due to its waterproof properties. The shoe design starts off with a vintage, instantly recognizable, old school New Balance silhouette. Hanon then adds superior Wolverine leathers, sueded pigskins, vintage bound mesh tongue and Ventile smart fabric application. The tongues of the shoes are accented with an airplane outline. Finally, the look is topped off with old school white laces. The kicks will come in two different eye catching colorways (black/yellow/red and gray/yellow/black) and has a tentative late August release date. The production run of 150 is very limited and carries a 74.95GBP price tag.

New Balance MT580 Gore-Tex CYMK Pack Samples

Here is a preview of the upcoming New Balance MT580 “CYMK” Pack. While we assume this pack is called the “CYMK” pack, we can only see three colorways in this picture - cyan, yellow and magenta. Even though you probably won’t be splashing these sneakers in the rain, the upper is partially composed of Gore-Tex material which might be helpful when you’re wearing these at a party and someone splashes drinks on your sneakers. No release dates have been released but look for these hot MT580’s to drop soon.

Staple Design x New Balance 575 “Pigeon”

The almost mythical pigeon derived from the minds over at Staple Design is set for a comeback, three years after its Nike SB Dunk Low’s release sparked wide-spread chaos and panic amidst the streets of New York. This time around, jeffstaple and crew look to New Balance’s trail runner the 575 as the cornerstone of their latest sneaker inspiration. In an in-depth interview with Sneaker Freaker, some pressing issues are featured including what reactions are expected out of the Nike camp as well as jeffstaple’s reasoning behind reliving some a historic shoe which he mentions changed the face of the sneaker world. For the shoe itself, the color placement is actually quite similar to the original SB Dunk including the pigeon-foot orange seen on the lining and sole. Also seen is a new embroidery on the heel featuring a flying pigeon to go alongside the original standing pigeon. Following up on Staple Design’s recent involvement with Lomo, a Pigeon-colored Lomo camera will also release. Singapore has already announced an August 6th release at Leftfoot Singapore and Le Vault.

New Balance CT470 | MAJJ

Despite being known almost exclusively for their running segment, the previous generations of New Balance have boasted a relatively unknown contingency of court classics. Among the styles making their way back into New Balance’s 2008 model roster are the CT470 and MAJJ. Both styles embody a vintage feel with simple white/off-white colorways. Sole Obsession x New Balance 991 1 of 1

On a recent trip to New Balance’s legendary Flimby factory in the UK for a preview of the 2009 NB range, Singaporean sneaker boutique Sole Obsession was afforded a great opportunity to create an ultra-rare 1 of 1 sneaker. Coinciding with the push New Balance is offering to the 99X series of running shoes in 2009, the Sole Obsession design is seen on a 991 in association with a colorway seen on an upcoming retro color of the New Balance 850. Premium materials are all but expected emanating out of the Flimby factory and can be seen in the form of croc/nubck uppers. Due to the limited availability of this, don’t expect it to ever see a release.

New Balance A14 576 “Coffee Beans”

Although conceptually driven footwear has hit a low point over the last year, the New Balance A14 576 exemplifies the solid workings of what concepts can do for a sneaker. The 576 references an unlikely source of inspiration in coffee beans to create the colorway. The upper is comprised of hemp and cork with a printed insole and painted ‘N’ logo. Slated for a release in August of 2008.

SNEAKERSNSTUFF x New Balance 577

Upon an exclusive interview with Sneaker Freaker, the Scandinavian sneaker outfit SNEAKERSNSTUFF revealed their thoughts on the run-up to their upcoming New Balance release on the 577 model. Peter and Erik has expressed each other’s own thoughts on their respective design philosophies. Peter’s design features a classic black/white/3M design while Erik showcases a wilder side with a brightly designed offering. One thing worth noting is within the Encap markings on the midsole, each respective model will have the ‘E’ and the ‘P’ highlighted, however Peter’s marking is not seen on this particular sample. The two-pack are set to release August 15th at SNEAKERSNSTUFF.com.

Frontline Shop with New Balance are releasing a limited run of 576s. Both green and brown are used with a distinct separation seen at the forefoot. Spanish outfit 24 Kilates has once again teamed up with New Balance on the legendary 1500 model to produce this Joan Miró joint. Continuing with their theme of paying homage to Catalan artists, Miro’s style and color palette fit well with the generally more color liberal population of the Southern parts of Europe. No word yet on a release date.

Dutch boutique LFSTL are set to release their own sneaker collaboration initiated with New Balance on the classic 577. Although details are sparse, an initial look reveals and suede and nubuck upper with perforated toebox. The color scheme features gray, green and purple. No word yet on a release date.

New Balance 576 China Mask

At a recent New Balance exhibition in Shanghai, the upcoming China Mask 576 collection was unveiled alongside this never before seen limited edition 576. Unlike the previous three-pack of 576s, this version features a complicated execution, creating a design which differs from left shoe to right shoe. Numerous Chinese Opera references can be seen as well, keeping in line with the sneaker’s theme. Available exclusively within Southeast Asia in August, limited to 576 pairs.

Although the aesthetics are spot on, a distinction exists albeit quite subtle as New Balance has sought to combine some of its technological wonders into the design including its proprietary ABZORB cushioning system. The colorful exploits of the annual/bi-annual mita sneakers, realmad HECTIC and New Balance MT580 collaboration have continued deep into their 12th release. Atmos x New Balance Face-Off 576

Two familiar partners in crime, massive Japanese sneaker store Atmos has had the pleasure of working with New Balance on numerous occasions to fulfill the large Japanese appetite for the NB. We've seen distinct design patterns emanating from the Land of the Rising Sun as the Japanese are known to adore concept driven footwear as well as more liberal creations. The latest Atmos x New Balance collabo features a color-changing upper which changes colors relative to heat. A July release date has been set however aside from Atmos NY, don't expect these to be too readily available outside of Japan.

New Balance MT580 International Launch

New Balance recently had their international launch of their MT580 model in Taipei. On display at the exhibition were the complete collection of the Mita Sneakers MT580 as well as four never seen before MT580's. According to Kenlu, the black and white MT580's are slated to be released in November while the Brown colorway (inspired by LV luggage case) and the Red colorway (inspired by Victorinox) will be releasing in September.

New Balance CM320M

Upon its debut in the 1970s, the 320 from New Balance was immediately heralded by Runner's World as the number 1 performer. With a return to vintage models in recent memory and an overall move away from chunky profiles, the 320 is enjoying a new bit of relevancy in 2008. This latest pack is inspired by early video game imagery. Available next month in three colorways at Mita.

A new range of styles from New Balance have been released. The fabled 576 runner is seen in two colorways including another take on one of NB's marquee 576 retro releases earlier this year with ample use of blue. New Balance 576 20th Anniversary Timeless Collection

A few years ago, miniature shoes were a hit as the often micro sized toys were the closest things you'd have to owning the hard to get exclusive sneakers they represented. For New Balance's 20th anniversary of their 576, the legendary running brand has captured the essence of some of their marquee 576s in their Timeless Collection. In what we consider a collaboration staying true to the essence of the task at hand, New Balance's 20th anniversary of their 576 running shoe is met with high end Japanese brand Tsumori Chisato. The collaboration creates a convergence point for two differing styles of fashion, New Balance on one hand have ingrained themselves in the ground work of sneaker culture and running elitists while TC's high end roots incorporate visually stunning prints and designs fit for the runway. Two womens 576 models are featured in this small collection, each depicting an oceanic scene. Available soon at select IT dealers in Hong Kong.

Provider x New Balance 1500

Provider, one of the premier Australian streetwear store, teamed up with New Balance to release their 1500 Provider trainers on May 3rd only in Europe. The shoes come in a bright blue color in the front and dark grey and black in the back. Also, the white accent detail on the front of the shoes are mirror images of each other rather than the usual duplicate. This will be an in-store only release at Solebox.

Stussy x Hectic x UNDFTD x New Balance "Triple Threat" MT580 Synthetic Pack

This Saturday will be the release of the Stussy x Hectic x UNDFTD x New Balance "Triple Threat" MT580 Synthetic Pack. Three colorful MT580's will be released each representing a collaboration with either Stussy, Hectic or UNDFTD. These clunky sneakers won't match with your jeans but they will be perfect for the summer when you have your shorts on. Available at Undefeated Japan on April 26th.

Leftfoot x New Balance 576 "Heaven & Hell"

Originally seen back in February was an upcoming collaborative effort between Singaporean sneaker store Leftfoot, New Balance and famous sneaker customizers SBTG and Methamphibian. The duo set forth with the theme of "Heaven and Hell", an evolution of their initial plan of basing it on East (SBTG) meets West (Methamphibian). The two colors on the surface are distinguished by black and white, however upon further inspection, details come to life in a series of intricate highlights and exploration that pushes the realm of sneaker design. A special slide box is included which features a tiger camo print which enables you to place the slide-out portion and the box together to create a full out art piece. The sneakers will be available April 18th at Leftfoot Singapore.

New Balance 576 Elements Collection

Although not entirely a new theme from New Balance (previously seen on the Super Team 33 Elements Pack), the nature of the Chinese Taoist elements of earth, wood and water can be seen manifested on this latest pack of New Balance 576s. Each element's aesthetic features are applied, from the Earth elements brown tones, Wood's black and green significance to tree bark and leaves and Water, seen in an appealing blue and white colorway. The 576 Elements Collection began its roll-out on April 1st with the Earth model, with subsequent versions of the Wood releasing one month later and the Water model releasing June 1st.
